optional Adds to Rent

  • Each house will be able to decide if they want to participate the transportation program. If so, we will help you organize what reliable transport looks like. It maybe bus passes for everyone, or scooters and bus passes or even a house car. All for $50/mo

  • We have partnered up with Verizon and T Mobile to provide you an unlimited data text and phone plan. If the house decides a premium plan will be included as part of your rent!

  • For $125/mo per resident either case or SNAP equivalent, we will help you create a Groceries &/or Meal Plan. This way when you come in the fridge will always be stocked and with free delivery from Walmart you can get it at any time. We will walk you through this entire process and even create a custom meal plan for you all to implement.

  • Where else can you live and decide to save. If the house chooses this option then they will pay an additional $85/mo. By doing this every two years we will have saved for you $2000! Now thats getting more than a stimulus check every two years!

A safe and healing home

  • Each community will be Drug & Violence Free.

  • When you live here, you are committing to peace inside and out. No violence. If there are problems, you commit to resolving them in a peaceful manner.

  • Every house will have a healing/sacred space where a resident can retreat to and experience peace and introspection. There you can meditate, read or participate via zoom in a healing group or inspiring journey

  • Part of living at the community will be regular gratitude dinners that are part of the community to celebrate and invite possible new residents to see how the community lives.

  • By living in this community you will get to decide a few times a year to take a collective day trip. All included in rent.

Self Governed & Run

  • Each community will have basic agreements such as non violence, self governance that is commits to.

  • Each house is independent and manages all its affairs by itself. Santosha will reach out once a month to help with any challenges

  • Residents make all important decisions of the house through a voting process

  • Each house also creates its own rules as long as they dont violate the basic agreements.

  • Each resident is required to attend the Mandatory weekly meeting where important items are discussed.

Focused on You

  • Part of the 4 or so hours a week of work back into the house includes doing chores around the house such as cleaning, light yard work, garden tending etc.

  • You will decide who gets to join, each house personally interviews the person and invites them. They join as a non voting member for 30 days so that you can actually live and see how they integrate in the community then they become a permanent voting member.

  • At Shala we strive to resolve conflicts together in a meaningful way. We listen to all sides, express ourselves and find solutions together.

  • Every house will have a healing/sacred space where a resident can experience peace and introspection. There a resident can meditate, read uplifting texts, take steps towards their interests or participate via zoom in a healing group or inspiring journey

Financial Transparency

  • Each residents will have access to where all the money is being used. Infact they have a major say in keeping the House Budget balanced

  • Easy to read and visual reports will make managing and running the house a breeze for its residents.

While this is open to all those who are struggling and barely making ends meet, currently we are looking for

  2. A womens community of single women

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Residents share all expenses of the house. Thus rent can vary. However mostly it will range between 140 and 200 a week or between 550 and 800 a month.

  • Each applicant will apply to a house and the house will conduct an personal interview and then vote a person in. Once voted in, the new resident will be admitted temporarily ( without a vote) for 30 days before they become a member.

  • The house residents will run the house. Santosha Village will provide the basic rules, and also guide the house on other rules however each house will be able to modify the rules to best suit them.

  • No the house will be run democratically by its residents. There will be weekly meetings which everyone is required to attend where important decisions will be made. There will be elected positions in the house. These roles will provide the help that is needed. Some roles include, finance manager, chores coordinator, intake scheduler and wellness coordinator.

  • Each resident will contribute about 4 hours a week to keep the house clean and running smoothly

    Each resident will participate important decisions through voting

  • Everyone is required to attend the weekly meeting

  • Any one that is tired of living day to day and wants to create a much more meaningful life style, have most of their important needs met, live in community, heal and enjoy life.

  • Each house is required to meet its rent obligations. All expenses are divided equally by the number of people living there. If a person cannot pay rent, the house has to decide what to do. They may decide to pay the rent from their pocket, from savings or ask the person to get a new resident
